As a dentist, the long-term relationships I build with my patients is the most rewarding part of my profession. These relationships are built on trust and understanding of not only their dental concerns, but the connection with my fellow patients on a human level.

 It is fulfilling to be part of their lives, as they are part of mine, while we work together to achieve and maintain a beautiful, healthy and functional smile.

Listening and creating a safe environment for my patients and team is the foundation of my practice. Building upon that is staying abreast on the latest research and technological advancements in dentistry. I do this by continuing my education yearly through quality courses and working only with trusted specialists that I would refer my own family to.

I became a dentist because I loved going to the dentist as a child. I remember when I had a baby tooth loose, barely hanging on by a corner and I wouldn’t let anyone touch it just so my grandmother would bring me to the dentist. In dental school, I found out that this type of admiration for the dentist was rare. So, I spent most of my dental school years working with the pediatric department and a behavioral psychologist to research ways of making that first appointment for patients a positive one. I continue this emphasis on positive experience with children and adults in everyday practice.

I was born in Taiwan and moved to Oregon when I was in first grade. My family

owned a Chinese restaurant where I learned the value of hard work and the warmth of connecting with one’s community. Ironically, I never learned to cook well! However, my husband loves to cook and I have become a reliable taste tester. We share our home with our two Shetland sheepdogs, CeCe and Keebler. I enjoy gardening, yoga and serving to better animal welfare. I am also a certified yoga teacher and bring the mindfulness techniques of the practice into the dental setting to create a sense of calm and ease for those who need it.
